Mr. Stern:
1) In light of the allegations in the O.J. Mayo situation, as well as allegations that these one-and-done players once basketball is over simply stop going to class, wouldn't it be better to simply go back to the way it used to be and let those good enough go direct from high school to the pro's?
2) The hack-a-Shaq rule is stupid and could be done away with quite easily. Why don't you?
3) I am extremely dissapointed in what has gone down in Seattle and in the way you have handled the situation. You are quite willing to work with the people in Sacramento to get a new arena. Why not Seattle? It seems like the situation in Seattle has gotten personal.

Who does David Stern think he is trying to take the sonics away from Seattle after 41 years of tradition and a championship under our belt. Does he think that it is okay to let Clay Bennett just pack them up and take them to Oklahoma. Well he is wrong that is the Totally wrong thing to do. Let alone Clay Told Howard Schultz he would keep them in Seattle, Let alone being the slime ball he is he thought that he could just take them away from Seattle. I have been a Soncis fan since i was 5 and it would kill me to see them move away from such a great city.

In the past 27 seasons, there have been only 8 NBA champions (Lakers, Celtics, 76ers, Pistons, Rockets, Bulls, Spurs, and Heat). What are you and the league office doing in order to establish parity in the league? How do you expect fans from cities like Milwaukee, Dallas, Phoenix and New York to maintain their interest while the same teams win over and over, year after year?

Given the situation in Sudan, which George Bush has declared a genocide, why is the NBA continuing to expand, and heavily market to China - as China is the largest purchaser of Sudanese oil and is therefore supporting the killing and enslavement of black Sudanese?

How is it that the NBA, with Sudanese-born players such as Manute Bol and Luol Deng, does not take a stand?

Why hasn't the NBA instituted modern technology in the game to help the referees? Such as sensors on the baselines, sidelines, the critical lines on the court and using video replay challenges.

Do you still hold resentment for the Phoenix SUNS from the Connie Hawkins lawsuit 40 plus years ago?

Mr. Stern, this video shows you raving about the new key arena in 1996. By 2000 the arena was "outdated" in your mind. Why the total 180? And why haven't you shown any sympathy to the people of Seattle who have already built you an arena? You just decided 4 years after it was built that you suddenly didn't like it any more.

Why are you screwing over fans that have supported your product for 41 years??? You keep pointing out that Safeco and Qwest got funded, but what you (convienently) fail to mention is the Seahawks and Mariners are not back here wanting new stadiums built a mere 10 years after the other two were built like you are. If Seattle were to fund a new stadium, how could we ever trust the NBA to honor agreements you have signed when you won't honor this agreement you signed? And more importantly, who would a new stadium help the situation up here when Key Arena rarely sells out as it is?

ALL of this is due to owners who have run the team into the ground, and your reaction is to screw the city by moving the franchise. Frankly, you deserve the reaction the politicians here gave you because you people have proven to be untrustworthy. So please, point the fingers inward rather than at us, and get your own house in order.

My question is this: Do you really think anyone believes a THING you say anymore, given your pathetic track record in Seattle?

I think this article should be about the NBA and what has happened to the Sonics. Something is really wrong here and obviously NBA fans from all over the country are disturbed about what it says about the NBA's priorities.

Obviously the fans are not at the top of the list! Plus Stern blew off Seattle, saying 'we're going to expand to big Asian cities - who needs you Seattle?' But isn't it the National Basketball Association - shouldn't we have priority being in the USA with 41 years of history and loyalty? Or does that mean so little.

That is what you article should be about. That is what is going to attract mucho readers to that issue of Time Magazine. Thanks for giving us poor Seattle fans somewhere to vent.
