I was recently doing research to write an essay against the banning and killing of certain breeds of dogs and thought who better to go to for information on such a topic but PETA. I was mortified when i read your articles attempting to justify killing innocent animals. Now i know that all dogs can be dangerous when in the hands of owners who do not know how to properly train and handle them, but i don't believe that they should be killed for their owners lack of responsibility. My question for you is this: if PETA is supposed to support the ETHICAL treatment of animals, what code of ethics allows the killing of the innocent?

HYPOCRITS the lot of ya?!?!?!?!?!

Just as I was setting out to launch my new book, Let’s Have a Dog Party!, I met a wet floor and went splat, neatly snapping the bones in my wrist. Ooh, the pain! Thank goodness for IV drips. Lying on the emergency room gurney …

Where to begin?

It’s possible that Newkirk’s wrists were unusually fragile because her vegan diet (with no dairy foods) rendered her calcium-deficient. Setting that aside, we agree that IV (intravenous) drips of painkillers are a good thing. And we don’t know which drug she was on, assuming it didn’t come from PETA’s “Let's Have a Dog Party!” tackle box. But the most commonly prescribed IV painkillers, fentanyl and meperidine (Demerol), have both been extensively tested on animals.

Add Newkirk to the list of hypocritical animal-rights leaders who let their principles slide when push comes to shove. Others include insulin-diabetic PETA Vice President Mary Beth Sweetland, hepatitis-C carrying PETA spokesbimbo Pamela Anderson, and breast-cancer survivor Simon Chaitowitz of the animal-rights Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. Like Newkirk, these three women owe their lives to medical research that required the use of animals.

I was just wondering, do you actually believe your joke of an orginization is helping animals? I'm an animal lover and I admire your willingless to fight for them but I absolutel despise PETA. Your orginization wastes money on legal defence for convicted eco terrorists who deserve to rot in prison, spends money on disgusting propaganda (Holocaust, Mclean, Mommy/Daddy Kill animals etc). That propaganda accomplsihes nothing ecept pissing people off and detering them from supporting your orginization. Please explain to me how it would have directly benifited an animal if Hamburg NY changed their name to Veggieburg?

I am vegetarian and very much against animal testing. I suffer from epilepsy, bi-polar disorder and social anxiety. I have to take several medications that are made by Glaxo-Smith-Kline. I don't have to tell you their background. None of these disorders are life-threatening (if I don't get treated for bi-polar, I become suicidal). What should I do? I don't want to help fund their cruel practices. I've asked Dr.s and they tell me that I have no choice. Do you take anything?

I was looking through the PETA FILES on your website and I found the one on October 30th 2007 entitles " How Ingrid broke her Wrist." to be very interesting especially the part that says "Just as I was setting out to launch my new book, Let’s Have a Dog Party!, I met a wet floor and went splat, neatly snapping the bones in my wrist. Ooh, the pain! Thank goodness for IV DRIPS." (emphasis mine)

So my questions is are you aware that IV drips and the medication used in IV drips were all tested on animals? Some commenters said it was not your fault because it is the law to test on animals which may be true however you had a right to refuse the pain killers so why didn't you?i I find it unlikely that you didn't know but hey its ok, everyone messes up from time to time but it is in our failures and how we handle those failures that our true character shines through and I'm sure you acme out and apologized to all your supporters for compromising your beliefs when the going got tough. Wait, what's that? you did not apologize, just pretended it never happened. Oh in that case you're a douche. shine."http://blog.peta.org/archives/2007/10/how_ingrid_brok.php

if you had to choose between a hunter going into the forest and killing one deer for him and his family to eat OR a vegetarian clearing the forest to make way for a wheat field killing all the birds, animals, deer, rabbits and insects that live in the forest

Which one would you choose?

In the HBO special "I Am an Animal" you said you saw a man beating a bull in the streets of India and you rushed over and started screaming at him and you said HE knew that he was lucky you did not kill him. My only problem with your story us that you were 8!!!
My question to you then is do you suffer from delusions and if so are the medications you are on tested on animals?

I have a few questions for Ms. Newkirk :

How do you expect people to have respect for animals when PETA shows no respect towards people?
For example the Holocaust on your Plate ad campaign was very distasteful and disrespectful as well as the recent ad where you compared chickens to the awful beheading of Tim McLean. Reasonable, Respectful people would have had the DECENCY not to run an add like that knowing what his family would have been going through, PETA didn't even have the decency to wait until his body was in the ground. How disgusting!

If your message is right and you know in your heart what you are preaching is true, why then do you think you have to resort to such petty, disgusting, childish, immature, repulsive acts in order to get your message across?
People like Martin luther King and Gandhi were able to get their message across peacefully and respectfully. Why can't you do the same? in my opinion I think it is because you and the people at peta lack the mental fortitude to put together a respectful, thoughtful argument and therefore have to rely on degrading women or doing other outrageous stunts in order to get attention. However, much like a small child throwing a tantrum at the mall, you may get my attention for a little while but I'm not going to take you very seriously.

Grow up, and if you want to start really reaching people. learn a little respect first, you do the animals no favors when you act like moron.
