Ask Vivienne Westwood

For over 35 years she has had a knack for combining the traditional with the outrageous. From defining London's punk movement in the 70s to creating that extravagant wedding dress that Carrie wore in Sex and the City: The Movie, her designs have always shocked and turned heads. This December, after being deemed inappropriate by a government spokesman in 2004, the V&A retrospective on her work, Vivienne Westwood: A Life in Fashion, will finally make its way to Hong Kong. Vivienne Westwood will now take your questions.

With such a ground breaking career and a strong desire to champion women's needs in fashion, How do you address the issue that in today's society clothes are tailored to fit women who wear a size zero and not a size 12.

As a woman who has never been small in stature I struggle to remain fashion forward and unlike America Ferrera, Beyonce, or others I do not have the budget or connections for custom clothes. I strive to buy key pieces each season to build on and save my pennnies for a chance to find something from you or DVF or Chanel and often am disappointed that there is nothing larger than an 8.

What can today's fashion houses bring to real woman and how can fashion evolve if the size issue is never addressed?
