As a slugger who is as notorious for your tendency to strike out as you are for your power hitting abilities, what have you done to rectify this problem? Do you think that you need to change your hitting style, or would you rather keep such a high risk/high reward approach?

  • 3

I am one of your biggest fans. Grew up in Philly going to games with my dad. I am so excited about your contract extension. I do have one question for you. I cannot help but notice that playing first base is not the most confortable position for you to play. Is there another position onf the field you would rather play?

    Dear Ryan,

Besides Citizens Bank, which park do you enjoy playing in most? The least? Why?

ps will you hit a dinger for my mom's birthday? She has a crush on you; which is a little awkward.

The Phillies clubhouse seems cohesive. The players look like they enjoy playing with each other. What are the two or three essential ingredients for this success?

  • 6

    Hey Ryan,

Outside of our division and the Yanks, what teams do you think are going to be sleepers in the playoff hunt? Any players you see having a break out year for us or anyone else?

Thanks and go get'em this year

    Rob

Hey Ryan! Does it bother you that Carlos Delgado is a better first baseman then you?

  • 8

Ryan, I just bought a ticket pack with my buddy for CitiField. We will be seeing the Phillies 3 times this year, so you think during one of those games you could crush one to section 437? Thanks.

  • 9

Hey Ryan - Two part quetion. One, how many subscriptions to the Economist do you have? Three? Four? Five? Two, tt's way better than time, right?

  • 10

    What's your favorite inspirational quote?

  • 11

    Hey Ryan!

Do you think Eagles will win this year? I like baseball but would like to see the Eagles win like the Phillies did too. Woudn't that be awesome?

  • 12

Thank you for giving me one of the best moments of my life last year. How does it feel being part of a team that has giving the long suffering Philly fans a once in a generation celebration? (PS: Do it again!)

  • 13

    Ryan,
Which southpaw pitcher you dread facing the most? and what about a righty?

  • 14

Do you wish you were a Cardinal?

  • 15

What advice would you give to all of the fathers who coach their sons in Little League baseball?

  • 16

It is surprising that someone of your baseball caliber and skill level did not attend a "baseball school". Why did you choose to attend Southwest Missouri State?

  • 17

    Dear Ryan Howard,
Over the years, Philadelphia has had the terrible reputation of being "bad sports" or "least sportsman like" of fans. Do you feel that this is true and if so, do you feel that has hurt or helped you as an athlete?

  • 18

I am a big fan and have watched your career blossom very nicely. I read that you are from St. Louis. Do you have ever come back to town for any baseball camps or clinics?

  • 19

    Ryan,

    Whose cuter...Cole or Chase?

Personally, I have a crush on the first-baseman!

  • 20

What do you think will be more a more fulfilling feeling- Winning your first World Series or winning a second one? First is your first, but second means your establishing something.

  • 21

    Ryan,
You grew up next door to me in st louis. Happy to see you do very well in the majors. good luck this year! Look me up when in st louis.

  • 22

What degree of awareness is there among well-paid athletes that they could live very comfortably on a fraction of their salary and donate the rest to needy non-profits of their choice?

  • 23

Ryan, pitchers often complain about the size of Citizens Bank Park and feel it is a "hitters ballpark?" As a hitter, do you agree with that assessment? Additionally, do feel that this reputation is going to cause problems in acquiring pitching talent via free agency in the future?

  • 24

I can't imagine going from being a regular guy to someone getting paid millions of dollars. Does the MLB have any type of support to help young athletes handle such a transition?

  • 25

So Ryan, what are you going to do with all of that money?
