Ask Perez Hilton

Larry King Krista Kennell / Corbis

For five years he has blogged about celebrities on his often-scandalous, sometimes-newsbreaking site perezhilton.com. The 31-year-old Miami native has made a name for himself as one who calls it like he sees it -- especially if “it” happens to be a star misbehaving. Love him or hate him (and many of his subjects hate him), he's tough to ignore: perezhilton.com boasts 276 million page views a month. In his most recent public showdown, the openly gay blogger faced off with Miss California, Carrie Prejean, over the issue of same-sex marriage. Submit your questions for Perez Hilton below, then read the interview in an upcoming issue of TIME magazine.

What role do you see blogging playing as an important resource and valid form news dissemination?

  • 2

You've written some pretty scathing things about people. Have you ever regretted any of your blog posts?

  • 3

    Hello, Mr. Hilton.

Don't you think Miss Prejean is entitled to her opinion every bit as much as you are entitled to yours?

  • 4

Can you ever see yourself retiring from blogging and doing something else as a profession? Is perezhilton.com an integral part of your identity? (and are the two mutually exclusive?)

  • 5

How did advocates for same-sex marriage succeed in making it a civil rights issue - and turning their position into the "correct" view when the vast majority of Americans want to keep marriage what it is - the union of one man and one woman?

  • 6

What do you think about this quote from Eleanor Roosevelt?

Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.

  • 7

After Miss California's response to your question, you said some pretty harsh things about her. Are you prepared to say the same about President Obama, who holds the exact same position on the issue that she does?

  • 8

After Miss California's response to your question about same-sex marriage, you had some harsh things to say about her. Are you prepared to say the same things about President Obama, since he holds the same position as her on the issue?

  • 9

Why should anyone care what's on the mind of a pageant contestant, and do you think this altercation has served to trivialize an otherwise important civil rights issue?

  • 10

You were tough on Carrie Prejean for her stance on same sex marriage. Would it be fair for a judge on American Idol to criticize Adam Lambert for his views (if asked) on same sex marriage? Is there a double standard?

  • 11

How did you first get into internet blogging? Was it something you first did as a hobby or did you know it would be your career?

  • 12

How do you get the inside scoop on celebrity dirt that we all love to read? And, do you ever feel guilty when you hit these celebrities hard and below the belt?

  • 13

Perez, what is your view on millions of illegal migrants in the United States of America? Mass Amnesty or Mass Deportation?

  • 14

What do you say to the many celebrities who argue that your blog is an infrigment and on their privacy and often an all out assault? Do you beleive that bloggers like yourself and the paparazzi can go to far?

  • 15

Where does that name come from??????

  • 16

If you are so critical of others why are you indifferent when someone has an opinion that differs from yours (same sex marriage)? I am not opposed to gays or gay marriage although the site is hilarious in my opinion. Have we reached an age when we can not have an opinion different from the norm?

  • 17

Did you know you, that you are living in sin?

  • 18

Will you ever move on to more traditional media?

  • 19

Why did Miss America organizers think you would be an appropriate choice for a judge, given your childish and petty comments about almost everyone famous?

  • 20

Why do you do what you do?

  • 21

You often write rather rude comments about celebrities, or draw obscene things on their faces, and then are seen posing for pictures, smiling with them, only a little while later. Isn't it awkward meeting the celebrities you berate on your blog? Is there any bad blood?

  • 22

Hi Mr. Perez Hilton, I would love to know if you are actually annoyed by all the famous people you berate on your blog? And is what you write what you really think, or only what you know people will enjoy reading?

  • 23

Is it truly your belief that people that should openly lie about their personal and religious beliefs?
You have made a career of openly expounding on your personal beliefs, unsolicited I might add.
You asked a question, Miss California answered that question, truthfully according to her beliefs.
Should we crucify her because she doesn't agree with our agenda?
Or celebrate her honestly in the face of certain loss?

  • 24

If the Calfiornia Supreme Court doesn't repeal Propsition 8, what would you do to fight for marriage equality.

  • 25

dear mr perez, dont you think that celebrities like ms prayinjeans that put up a false front (well 2 of them and they are big and pretty!) should not be allowed to participated if the other girls have homegrown ones?
