    Jerry,
I am a commercial and music video director. I have had national airings in both fields and some of my work has been featured at Cannes. I have a great personality and a die-hard work ethic...yet none of the production companies want to represent me. Do you have any ideas as to how I can get my work in front of more production company execs? People like me, I have a college degree and great ideas, but I am having one hell of a time finding representation. Any advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks-
    Joshua H Coyne

Your films tend to be plot-heavy with lots of action, explosions, and CG special effects. Have you ever thought about producing smaller, character-driven films?

  • 6

When you're reading a script, is there a consistent element that makes you say "I want to make this movie?"

  • 7

Sometimes your shows revolve around ideas and crimes that are disturbing and bizarre, so how do you consistently come up with the ideas behind each episode in shows like your CSI ? Where does it come from?

  • 8

    Who influenced you early on?

  • 9

In your opinion, have movies (or even movie making) changed significantly over the years? And if so how?

In all your films, is there a particular on-screen moment that means the most to you? Maybe one that you had to really fight for, or one that represents something of great importance to you personally?

  • 12

  • 13

I love most of your movies, but are there any that you wish you hadn't made?

  • 19

How do you sleep at night?

    Hi Jerry,
I was an extra on the set of Deja Vu and you cut in front of me in the lunch line when we were on location in Chalmette. Being a wise extra, and recognizing who you were, I didn't say anything. Since we almost shared lunch together, can you do me a favor?

Can you send me the scene I was in with Denzel that they cut out of the movie. I played the deputy on the stairwell as he walked out the door at the parish prison and in another scene, I opened the same door for Jim Caviezel.
    Cheers,
    your lunch buddy
p.s. The movie was a blast!
